Homesick in Slovenia

It was my 61st day on the road when I felt increasingly homesick, which was surprising because I am not the kind of person who gets that feeling while being away. It got so bad that all my thoughts revolved around the idea to cut my trip short and then head back home. I kept telling myself that I was not supposed to think that way because I was living my dream. I was even doubtful about enjoying my visit to Slovenia because I was overthinking so much then.

Luckily, there was a Filipino restaurant in Ljubljana, @tastycornerslovenia. I visited the small restaurant three times to know if a taste of pancit canton and Pinoy beef steak would somehow cure the intense homesickness that I was feeling back then, and voila, it worked.

While traveling alone, I had my fair share of sad moments in a new country that I did not expect to visit because when I did my Eurotrip, I honestly, had zero plans. There was no checklist to complete.

But as we know, travel isn’t always pretty and perfect, may you be alone or not.

There’s just always ups and downs while on the road.

Traveling alone is not for everyone as it will test you so much, but it’s worth it.
